Anchovie Tapenade is something light that may be served as an afternoon snack or even a light lunch  *  Best served on sliced italian bread or crackers – I will sometimes bake up some flat bread bilinie for an extra special occasion  *  To mix this tapenade –  pile 1 1/2 cup of pitted olives into a food processor along with two Tbsp of capers, two cloves of crushed garlic, eight anchovies in oil, three small quartered dried figs, 1/2 tsp ground black pepper and 1/4 cup of olive oil  *  process until chopped  *  remove contents from food processor to a glass bowl – wrap in plastic and refrigerate  *  when ready to serve  – slice and brush with melted butter/garlic – warm the bread and top with a Tbsp of Anchovie Tapenade  *  Best wishes for a wonderful New Year!
